How do you say "Skype" in Chinese?

One technology that has changed the way that we can communicate is Skype. I am not big into technology, but this is one thing that I have used and it is very convenient. One of my best friends is from China and she talked me into going to China with her for a few weeks after the school year was over. So, I went with her. This was a very big trip for me especially since I have not really done a lot of travelling. My mom was extremely worried about me as I was a 23 hour flight away. Growing up, my mom wouldn't let me stay the night at a friend's house down the block unless she knew their parents. So, imagine how she was about letting me stay at a friend's house that was literally on the other side of the world! Well, my friend had a Skype account, so the first day that I was in China I was able to call my mom. She was so excited that she screamed and she put me on speaker phone so that my dad could hear me too. It was really nice to be able to talk to them with this technology because there was no way I was going to use my cell phone. It would have been extremely expensive because I was out of network and it was cheaper than buying an international calling card. Skype really helped to allay my mom's fears about me being so far away. I know that this is the main way that my friend communicates with her family back in China as well. So, Skype is a very convenient way for people to keep in touch. Unfortunately, I could only call my mom because she does not have a Skype account, but you can set it up so that you can have video as well. This is a really nice technology to be able to use, especially if you travel a lot.
