Talk to you on YouTube

Communication is always changing and technology is aiding that process. As a society that is always connected, we are accustomed to constantly sending out short messages that are full of abbreviations. However, with the rise of YouTube, our messages are changing from being text based to visual. Now, you can have someone talk to you and you get most of the nonverbal cues that end up filtered out when the message is text based. This can make a person more effective at getting their message across. Unfortunately, the receiver cannot give messages back. Also, because the messages are visual, the sender does not have to say everything. They can let their images do the talking. This can be an advantage to a speaker when they want to get their message out because a "picture says 1000 words." Next time when you watch someone give a speech on a YouTube video, think about how much more difficult it would be to understand what they were saying if you had to look at their script.
